Tasmania has a minimum duty of $50 and a top rate of 4.5% - notably lower than mainland states.

First home buyers
Tasmania offers 100% duty exemption on properties up to $750,000 for first home buyers (both new and established homes). This temporary measure expires 30 June 2026.
